O livro conta a história de Jacob (um rapaz de 16 anos) que passa por um grande trauma com a morte de seu avô. Ele chega a acreditar que tudo o que viu nao era real, e para entender melhor o que aconteceu ele faz uma viagem até uma ilha remota na costa do País de Gales, onde descobre as ruínas do Orfanato da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares. Lá ele vai desvendando o mistério relacionado a este orfanato, descobrindo o quanto estas crianças eram diferentes (e talvez perigosas) e vendo coisas que faz sua mente duvidar da realidade.  Mas ao encontrar as crianças peculiares, elas o mostram que tudo o que ele viveu era real, e que o próprio Jacob é muito mais importante do que ele poderia imaginar!

O que mais me impressionou no livro foram as fotos que acompanham a história. Ler sobre os personagens estranhos e vê-los em sequência ajuda muito na construção da história. Surpreendente foi descobrir no final do livro que todas as fotos eram reais !

Tittle: Miss Peregrine`s Home for Peculiar Children

The book tells the story of Jacob (a 16-year-old boy) who goes through a major trauma with the death of his grandfather. He comes to believe that everything he saw was not real, and to better understand what happened he makes a trip to a remote island on the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine's orphanage for peculiar children. There he will uncover the mystery related to this orphanage, discovering how different these children were (and perhaps dangerous) and seeing things that makes his mind doubt the reality.  But by finding the peculiar children, they show him that everything he lived was real, and that Jacob himself is much more important than he could ever imagine!

What impressed me most in the book were the pictures that accompany the story. Reading about the strange characters and seeing them in sequence helps a lot in the construction of the story. Surprising was to find out at the end of the book that all the pictures were real!

Anna Fox é uma personagem cheia de problemas... sofre de agorafobia, bebe vinho demais, toma medicações muito fortes e fica tomando conta da vida dos vizinhos.

Diante de tudo isso fica realmente difícil saber se ela realmente viu tudo o que disse ver e se o que está acontecendo ao seu redor é real ou apenas um truque da sua imaginação. 

O livro me surpreendeu algumas vezes com o desenrolar da história (o que é bem difícil de acontecer), e o final foi muito legal ! 

O autor do livro esteve recentemente nas manchetes de alguns jornais, de vido à descoberta de que o mesmo teria mentido algumas vezes dizendo que teve cancer (veja os links de algumas noticias abaixo), quando na verdade "ele sofreria de distúrbios psicológicos, e não físicos", segundo as palavras do mesmo.

Title : The Woman in the Window

Anna Fox is a character full of problems... Suffers from agoraphobia, drinks too much wine, takes very strong medications and is taking over the lives of the neighbors.

In face of all this it gets really hard to know if she really saw everything she said to see and whether what's happening around her is real or just a trick of her imagination.

The book surprised me a few times with the unwinding of history (which is very difficult to happen), and the end was very cool!

The author of the book was recently in the headlines of some newspapers, from the discovery that the same would have lied sometimes saying that he had cancer (see the links of some news below), when in fact "he would suffer from psychological disturbances, and not Physical ", according to the words of the same.

But his sister actually was never apart from him!

The damned is a phsycological thriller, that talks about shadows of the past, childhood traumas, ghosts and love!

The book was selected as one of the Best Suspensful Thriller Books of the years by DuJour.

Ainda Sou eu / Still Me

Não sou nenhuma fã de romances, mas a trilogia sobre a vida de louisa Clark me prendeu de uma forma surpreendente !

Depois de me apaixonar por ela no primeiro livro, e de odiá-la no segundo, neste terceiro livro eu me encantei com todas as decisões tomadas pela personagem, e amei as consequências das decisões tomadas.

Terminei o livro querendo mais histórias da Louisa, esta personagem linda, mas ainda assim, muito feliz com o fechamento da trilogia !

I'm no fan of romance, but the trilogy of Louisa Clark's life caught me in a surprising way!

After falling in love with her in the first book and hate her in the second, in this third book I loved all the decisions made by Louisa, and the consequences of these decisions.

I finished the book wanting a little more ... a little more stories of the life of the character, but very happy with the closing of the trilogy!

Nesse livro tem continuação a história da vida de Louisa Clark mais de um ano após o fim trágico de seu relacionamento com Will.

Depois de beber demais ela sofre um terrível acidente e acaba conhecendo algumas pessoas ( um amigo de um grupo de apoio, um paramédico e uma quase "enteada" ) que podem mudar totalmente seu futuro!

E depois de me apaixonar por Louisa em "Como eu era antes de você ”, nesse novo livro eu passei a ter raiva dela ! Como uma pessoa conseguiu jogar fora todas as oportunidades e os ensinamentos que teve ?
Pelo menos ela manteve o seu bom coração, o que levou o livro a um final legal !

And after I fell in love with Louisa in  "Me before you," in this new book I have become angry with her! How could a person throw away all the opportunities and teachings she had?

At least she kept her good heart, which led the book to a good end!
